- Meet Ms Lotte Goldthorpe

We were excited to interview Ms Goldthorpe, the Director of Sport and Activities at Belmont, to learn more about her and her role.
How long have you worked at the school?
I have been working at the school for seven years now!
What does your role involve?
I oversee the sports programs across PE and Games and coordinate the Clubs and Activities Programme. In the summer, I also run the Activities Week.
What is your favourite thing about the school?
There are many things I love, but one key aspect is the strong sense of family between the staff and pupils. There is a genuine mutual interest and respect, which creates a safe and nurturing environment to learn and work in.
What advice would you give to our pupils to help them get the most out of their time here?
Don’t just follow what your friends do... be brave and step out of your comfort zone. Don’t be afraid to try something new, and if you enjoy it, go for it!
What is your favourite book and film for our pupils, and why?
For the younger pupils… Charlotte's Web, it's an oldie but a goldie!
Could you share an inspirational quote and tell us how it inspires you?
“Success is peace of mind, the direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming.”
It's a bit wordy, but essentially, it means that true success is achieving inner peace and self-satisfaction by knowing you've done your best to reach your full potential.
Can you tell us something interesting that we might not know about you?
I am a twin!
