Academic
At Belmont we are proud to offer a curriculum that is both academically rigorous and engaging, and one which strikes the right balance between academic, creative, linguistic and technological subjects and physical education.
We truly believe our mission and our privilege is to instil a love of learning in our pupils. Each of our lessons provide opportunities for pupils to discuss, explore, investigate, challenge and be challenged. As a result, they develop not only their understanding but also their enjoyment of the subject. Our Lower School pupils (Years 3 – 5) benefit from dedicated and enthusiastic primary specialists, with subject specialists teaching lessons in Art, Design & Technology, Computing, Music, and Sport. From Year 6 pupils are taught by subject specialists across the whole curriculum, ensuring a comprehensive and specialised learning experience.
Through active learning, our curriculum empowers pupils to delve deeper, ask questions and connect their learning to the world around them. As the pupils move through the School, they constantly develop their key learning habits, quickly becoming independent and developing their own high expectations. They have the confidence to share their ideas and opinions, as well as the humility to listen to others. By the time they leave us, they are effective, aspirational and self-motivated learners.
