Learning Support Department
We are very proud of the learning support we provide at Belmont and of the progress that our pupils make. We celebrate pupils’ strengths but also their potential and are able to provide support to help the pupils achieve this potential.
Support may be provided in the form of classroom assistance, small group tuition or one to one specialist support. Those pupils who come to us with difficulties that are already identified will be monitored and supported.
If an existing pupil appears to be experiencing difficulties, they would be referred to the Learning Support Department for initial testing and then, if necessary, further testing.
We have a department of qualified and experienced teachers, assistants, visiting occupational therapists and a speech and language therapist.
We are committed to supporting the pupils by working closely with parents, teachers and professionals. The pupils enjoy the support they receive, and this positivity is reflected in their attitude to learning.
