Enrichment Week 2026
Enrichment Week Brings Learning to Life at Belmont
This year’s Enrichment Week gave pupils across Belmont the opportunity to step outside the classroom and immerse themselves in a fantastic range of creative, cultural and performance-based experiences. From West End theatre trips to hands-on workshops with industry professionals, the week was packed with inspiration and excitement.
Theatre Adventures for Every Year Group
Our younger pupils in Years 3 and 4 enjoyed a trip to the Polka Theatre to see Arthur!, a lively and engaging production that sparked imaginations and introduced pupils to the magic of live theatre.
For Year 5, the week offered two exciting experiences. Half of the year group visited Cobham Hall, where they took part in a range of enriching activities in a historic setting, while the other half travelled to the Polka Theatre to enjoy a professional theatrical performance. The groups will swap experiences, ensuring that all pupils benefit from both opportunities.
Meanwhile, Year 6 pupils began preparations for one of the highlights of the school year, their Year 6 production. With rehearsals underway, excitement is already building as pupils develop their acting, singing and stagecraft skills ahead of the final performances.
Students in Years 7 and 8 travelled into London's West End to see Disney's spectacular The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre. The world-renowned production captivated pupils with its stunning costumes, breath taking puppetry and unforgettable music, providing a valuable insight into professional theatre at its finest.
A Day of Creativity and Performing Arts
Thursday saw Years 3 and 4 participate in a series of inspiring workshops led by talented professionals from across the creative arts sector.
Pupils worked with Amy Tweed, an experienced puppeteer, who introduced them to the art of storytelling through puppetry and demonstrated how characters can be brought to life through movement and imagination.
They also took part in drama workshops with LAMDA London Drama, developing confidence, communication skills and performance techniques through engaging activities and exercises.
Adding a touch of magic to the day was Leon the Magician, whose interactive performance delighted pupils while showcasing the importance of creativity, presentation and audience engagement.
In the visual arts, Mr McNulty led creative arts sessions that encouraged pupils to explore new artistic techniques and express themselves through a variety of media.
The day concluded with energetic dance workshops led by Katherine Isles, a professional choreographer who has worked on Strictly Come Dancing. Pupils embraced the opportunity to learn new routines, develop their movement skills and experience the discipline and excitement of professional dance training.
Celebrating New Experiences
Enrichment Week once again demonstrated Belmont's commitment to providing pupils with opportunities beyond the classroom. Whether watching world-class performances, developing creative talents or working with industry professionals, pupils gained valuable experiences that will inspire their learning long after the week has ended.
The week was a wonderful celebration of creativity, confidence and curiosity, leaving pupils with lasting memories and a renewed enthusiasm for the performing arts.
