Head for the Day: Harrison L

Harrison L recently had the exciting opportunity to become Head for the Day, spending time alongside Dr Abbott and gaining a behind-the-scenes insight into school leadership.

The day began with Harrison receiving his official Head for the Day badge before joining Dr Abbott to prepare for and lead the morning assembly. He then took part in a Learning Walk with Mrs Lumsden, Deputy Head (Academic), visiting classrooms across the school to see learning in action.

Reflecting on the experience, Harrison said: "I felt really excited because I love this school and I felt very lucky to have this experience."

One of the highlights of the day was touring the new AstroTurf. Harrison commented: "My favourite part was visiting the new AstroTurf and being the first Belmontian to go on it. It was a real pleasure."

At lunchtime, Harrison enjoyed lunch with Dr Abbott and two friends, giving him the opportunity to find out more about the role of a Head and the responsibilities involved in running a busy school.

When asked what he thought was the most important part of the job, Harrison replied: "I think the most important job is keeping the school in line and getting all the jobs done so they don't pile up."

The Learning Walk was another standout moment for Harrison. "I enjoyed the learning walk where I went round every classroom inspecting and seeing what life is like in other years," he said.

Asked what makes Belmont such a special place, Harrison's answer was simple: "The community. It is a nice place to be."

Harrison embraced the role with enthusiasm and curiosity, making him an excellent Head for the Day.
