Meet Ms Poorvi Smith, PA to the Head and is also on the Senior Leadership Team at Belmont. We were excited to sit down with her and learn more about her role and experience!

How long have you worked at the school?

Nearly 4 and half years – I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone by!

What does your role involve?

Anything and everything! I’m the PA to the Head, but I’m also on the Senior Leadership Team at Belmont and I deal with all the communications here . I get involved in pretty much everything and no day is ever the same!

What’s your favourite thing about the school?

It’s a cliché – but definitely the people. The staff here are like family and the pupils are lovely.

What advice would you give to pupils to help them get the most out of their time here?

Take every opportunity you’re given and appreciate your surroundings.

What’s your favourite book and film for our pupils, and why?

My favourite book has to be A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini – it’s a very poignant and moving account about life in Afghanistan and will stay with me forever. In complete contrast, my favourite film is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off ( although I wouldn’t recommend any pupils to do what Ferris does!)

Can you share an inspirational quote and explain why it resonates with you? 

“If life gives you lemonade- make lemons and life will be all like "whaaaaat?” - Phil Dunphy from Modern Family. I love this quote ! To me, it means that you should never be afraid to break the mould and do something different.

What’s something interesting about you that people might not know?

I still harbour of dream of one day becoming Prime Minister
