On Wednesday 15th October, pupils from Saxons held the first Year 6 Pupils from Saxons held the first Year 6 House charity event, coming up with simple but brilliant ideas to raise money for their chosen charity. After researching and presenting on various charities, the pupils thoughtfully chose to support the RSPCA. They then brainstormed fundraising ideas, and after carefully considering what would work best in a school setting, they decided on the idea of a school fair.

Working in small groups, they planned their stalls, wrote a promotional blurb for the Belmont newsletter, created posters, and prepared resources at home. Their creativity and resourcefulness shone through, and the fair was a huge hit with visiting pupils.

Stalls included Prize Ping Pong, Maths Magic, Hit the Stumps, Bowling, Cup Stacking, What’s in the Box? and Guess the Cup.

The Proctor Hall was buzzing, with Year 6 leading from the front and pupils enthusiastically taking part. One of the most sought after prizes was the right to choose the introduction music for assembly, we look forward to hearing the winners’ selections after half term.

In just half an hour, the Saxons raised an incredible £467.44 for the RSPCA!

A huge well done to all involved and thank you to everyone who came to support them. We can’t wait to see the energy and amazing ideas each house brings to this course throughout the year!
