Music Tour to Germany
At the end of last term, 43 talented musicians and 5 dedicated staff members set off from Belmont for our annual music tour — this year to the vibrant city of Cologne.
Over the course of five unforgettable days, pupils immersed themselves in the rich culture and history of the region. Highlights included visits to Marksburg Castle, the picturesque town of Koblenz, and the breathtaking Cologne Cathedral. A peaceful Rhine River cruise offered stunning views, while a day of high-energy thrills at Phantasialand brought plenty of laughter and excitement.
One of the most meaningful moments of the tour came on our final full day, when pupils performed two concerts at local residential care homes. These performances were incredibly special, and it was heartwarming to witness the joy that music brought to the residents. One woman, in particular, had waited four hours outside the performance room in anticipation — a moment that left a deep impression on us all.
The generosity of the care homes was equally touching, as they presented pupils and staff with hampers of sweets and chocolates as a token of thanks.
The trip was a tremendous success, and I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the pupils for their energy, kindness, and musicianship — you made the tour truly unforgettable. A huge thank you as well to Mr Warren, Mr Pateman, Ms Beiqi, and Ms Bridge for their unwavering support and for giving up part of their Easter break to make this experience possible.
