This Half Term at Belmont
This half term has been a vibrant showcase of Belmont’s values, talent, and community spirit. From earning the prestigious Eco-Schools Green Flag Award with Distinction to the inspiring performances at the Informal Music Concert, pupils have demonstrated courage, creativity, and commitment across all areas of school life. Highlights include a dynamic visit from theatre expert Jeremy James Taylor, a thought-provoking maths workshop with Rob Eastaway, and the Saxons’ successful charity fair raising funds for the RSPCA. Sporting achievements have also shone brightly, with standout performances in football, hockey, and cross-country. Alongside enriching trips and Black History Month celebrations, this term has truly reflected the energy and excellence of the Belmont community.
Eco Green Flag Award
This term we were delighted to be awarded the Eco-School Green Flag Award with Distinction, the highest level we could have achieved! This award recognises and celebrates the ecological achievements of our pupils. Read more here.
Belmont’s Informal Music Concert
This term, pupils from Years 3 to 8 participated in Belmont’s Informal Concert, an enriching event that highlighted the breadth of musical talent across the school and celebrated the courage of young performers. Read more here.
Visit from Jeremey James Tayolor, OBE
Year 7 and Year 8 Pupils we treated to a masterclass in theatre and acting from Jeremy James Taylor. During his visit, Jeremy led pupils through a series of engaging theatre exercises and shared valuable insights into the craft of acting and musical performance. Read more here.
Maths workshop with Rob Eastaway
We had the pleasure of welcoming Rob Eastaway, a talented mathematician and author of Maths on the Back of an Envelope: Clever Ways to (Roughly) Calculate Anything and Much Ado About Numbers. Rob delivered an inspiring talk and workshop for our Year 5 and 6 pupils, followed by another fantastic session with Years 7 and 8. Read more here.
Saxon’s Mini Fair
Pupils from Saxons Kick Off Year 6 House Charity Events with a Successful School Fair. They organised a vibrant school fair in Proctor Hall, featuring creative stalls such as Prize Ping Pong, Maths Magic, and Guess the Cup. The event was a hit with pupils from Years 3 to 6, raising an impressive £467.44 in just 30 minutes. Read more here.
Sporting Highlights
This term has been a fantastic celebration of sport at Belmont, with pupils showing not only skill and determination but also the values that matter most: teamwork, resilience, and respect. From thrilling football and hockey tournaments to cross-country and friendly fixtures, our pupils have embraced every challenge with energy and enthusiasm.
Highlights included impressive performances at regional competitions, exciting matches against visiting teams, and memorable moments where pupils supported one another and demonstrated true sportsmanship. It was particularly rewarding to see every Year 3 pupil take part in a school fixture, marking the start of their sporting journey. Read more here.
