Welcome from Head of Year 7

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you and your children as they prepare to join us in Year 7. My name is Miss Hockley, and I have the privilege of being the Head of Year 7. It is a wonderfully exciting time, and I want to take this opportunity to let you know just how pleased we are to welcome your child into our school community. 

We understand that moving into a new school environment, or even joining a new year group, can bring a mixture of emotions for both pupils and their families. Please be assured that we are fully committed to ensuring your child settles in quickly, feels supported and begins to thrive in all areas of school life. Your child’s wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, and we are passionate about creating a caring, inclusive and structured environment where every pupil feels safe, valued and confident to be themselves. 

At our school, we pride ourselves on offering a wide range of exciting opportunities, both within and beyond the classroom. We actively encourage all pupils to take advantage of the many clubs, activities, trips and leadership roles available to them. Whether their interests lie in the arts, sports, sciences or something else entirely, there is something for every child to discover and enjoy. Our aim is to help them build confidence, make new friends, discover new interests and passions and grow into well-rounded, resilient young people. 

Throughout the year, we will work closely with your child to support both their academic progress and personal development. We recognise that each pupil’s journey is unique and we are here to guide them every step of the way. Our pastoral team is experienced, approachable and always available to provide the care and encouragement your child may need. We also value a strong partnership with parents and carers, and we welcome open communication so that we can work together to support your child’s success.
